When a failed raid results in the death of a longtime team member, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) is forced out of retirement to rebuild the squad and track down the source of the new threat. Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), still struggling between loyalty to the team and building a life outside the battlefield, is pulled back in when ties to The Eternal reveal a shocking betrayal from someone within the global mercenary network.

The mission takes the Expendables across collapsing war zones, black-market tech hubs, and ancient desert fortresses as they race to stop a weapon capable of erasing cities in seconds. Along the way they recruit a new trio of lethal specialists: a silent-blade assassin (Tony Jaa), a master tactician with a hidden past (Keanu Reeves), and a rogue operative determined to avenge his fallen brother (Iko Uwais).
